Our PolarCam camera created by 4D Technology came in this week, causing excitement on the Eclipse team and a scramble to create communication between all of our hardware. We can now interface with the camera, and we are taking test images and creating the layout for our data acquisition software!

A preview of our setup below shows the PolarCam, our Starlight Xpress filter wheel, and the Stellarvue telescope connected to our Losmandy G8 mount, controlled by the Losmandy Gemini System.

Logistics for our trip to the acquisition site at Camp Wyoba near Casper, WY, are in the process of being confirmed. Some of the team is traveling to the site on Tuesday, June 27th to view the area and determine where our setup will be. Watch out for upcoming updates on the project—the eclipse is only 60 days away!
