Sreelakshmi Jayaraman

Sreelakshmi Jayaraman is a Ph.D. student at the Indian Institute of Geomagnetism, India, under the supervision of Dr. Geeta Vichare. She has been a visiting scholar at the High Altitude Observatory of the National Center for Atmospheric Research since 2020 in collaboration with Dr. Astrid Maute. Her research focuses on inferring the ionospheric currents using the magnetic perturbations measured by low earth-orbiting satellites like Swarm. She is investigating the seasonal and local time variation of gravity and plasma pressure-gradient currents using plasma density variations measured by the COSMIC satellite and using general circulation models like TIEGCM. She is also working on understanding the effect of neutral wind dynamics on equatorial electrojet.
