Flux emergence simulations with R2D2 code

The flux emergence and the formation of the sunspots are the most prominent phenomena on the solar surface. The formation of sunspots involves several complicated physical processes, such as convection, radiation, and ionization.  There have already been several works that include all these physics and achieve the formation of sunspots. The next step is extending the computational box. While the convection zone depth is 200 Mm, and it is thought that the origin of the sunspot is deep in the convection zone, the deepest calculation box in previous studies is 30 Mm. One expects some boundary influence on the results. We develop a new code, R2D2 (Radiation and RSST for Deep Dynamics), to extend the calculation box and carry out the flux emergence simulation in a deep domain from the base of the convection zone to the solar surface. We will show the details of the rising and formation processes of the sunspot. In the presentation, our perspective of the R2D2 calculation in Fugaku era is explained.
