K-Cor image 6 CR before August 21st eclipse

Located at 11,200 feet in Hawaii, the NCAR K-Cor coronagraph records images of the corona. The Sun takes 27.3 days to rotate as seen from Earth. Since the corona usually changes slowly we can imagine what the eclipse will look like using pictures of the corona taken 1, 2, even 3 solar rotations before the eclipse. Stay tuned as we post new images closer to eclipse time!
