Dr. Tanausú del Pino Alemán awarded 2018 ESPD Prize

Dr. Tanausú del Pino Alemán (Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias, Tenerife, Spain) has been awarded the 2018 ESPD Early Career Researcher Prize for his ground breaking contributions in the field of theoretical solar spectropolarimetry. Through the interpretation of spectropolarimetric observations we can investigate the magnetism of the atmosphere of the Sun and of other stars.

Tanausú carried out his PhD thesis at the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) and finished a two-year post-doctoral stay at the High Altitude Observatory (HAO) of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). Since February 2018 he is working at the IAC as post-doctoral fellow of the ERC AdG POLMAG. During July and August of 2018, Tanausú has returned to HAO as a visitor.
