Yeimy Rivera

Yeimy Rivera is a visiting scientist in the High Altitude Observatory (HAO) at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). She is completing her PhD program at the University of Michigan under the advisement of Dr. Enrico Landi and Dr. Susan Lepri. Yeimy is a Newkirk Fellow at HAO in collaboration with Steven Tomczyk. Her work investigates the evolution of coronal mass ejections (CMEs) and the solar wind by combining remote sensing, in situ observations, and nonequilibrium ionization modeling with the Michigan Ionization Code (MIC). The work investigates physical processes governing the plasma’s radial evolution and the injection of energy to the system. The goal is to provide a more robust interpretation of interplanetary ion measurements and their connection to corresponding solar sources.
