Alan Burns

Dr. Alan Burns is a Project Scientist in the High Altitude Observatory at NCAR. He does research into the physics of the thermosphere and ionosphere with particular emphasis on neutral composition and geomagnetic storm effects. Dr. Burns' current efforts are centered on studies of the ionospheric “anomalies” using GUVI, COSMIC and ionosonde data and models, and in producing a new capability to image the thermosphere in FUV radiation(GOLD mission).
