Xueling Shi

Dr. Xueling Shi is a scientific visitor in the High Altitude Observatory at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). Xueling received her PhD in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and is now a postdoctoral associate there. She is working on using measurements from ground and spacecraft datasets to analyze the sources and characteristics of plasma waves in the coupled magnetosphere-ionosphere (M-I) system and their impacts on Geomagnetically Induced Currents (GICs). She is also working with her HAO host, Wenbin Wang, on quantifying the contribution of ULF waves to the energy budget of the M-I system by using geospace models of NCAR.
