Momentum Budget of the Migrating Diurnal Tide

An analysis was done of the momentum budget of the diurnal westward-propagating wavenumber-1 (DW1) tide simulated by the Whole Atmosphere Community Climate Model (WACCM).

Bill Lotko

Bill Lotko has been an HAO affiliate scientist since 2010. He is a professor of Engineering Science at the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College and is a past interim dean of the school.

Mary Hudson

Professor Mary Hudson, from Dartmouth College, Department of Physics and Astronomy, has been an HAO affiliate scientist since 2010. She is a fellow of the American Geophysical Union and a recipient of their prestigious Macelwane Award.

Earth's Magnetosphere

This image is a snapshot from the Lyon-Fedder-Mobarry (LFM) Global Magnetosphere Model. The LFM helps scientists study the interaction between the Sun's magnetic field plasma and the Earth's magnetic field.

Joseph Huba

HAO welcomes one of its newest affiliate scientists, Dr. Joseph Huba, who is Head of the Space Physics Section at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL).
