Roble Honored with Bowie Medal

HAO is privileged to announce that Dr. Ray Roble was awarded the William Bowie Medal. He received AGU’s highest honor for his pioneering research into Earth’s upper atmosphere at this year’s AGU meeting in San Francisco.

Martin (Marty) Mlynczak

Marty Mlynczak has been an HAO affiliate scientist since 2000. He is a senior research scientist in the Climate Science Branch at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA.

Joseph Huba

Joe Huba is a Senior Research Scientist at Syntek Technologies in Virginia, who collaborates with HAO/NCAR on modeling the ionosphere, plasmasphere, and magnetosphere.

NASA Selects GOLD and ICON Missions

NASA has selected two new satellite missions to be built as part of the Heliophysics Explorer Program. The projects will provide space observations to study Earth's ionosphere and thermosphere, and will launch in 2017.
