The Mid-latitude All-sky-imaging Network for Geophysical Observations (MANGO) began with an idea of broadening the field-of-view of observations in the nighttime ionosphere. The atmospheric airglow that creates uniform layers around the earth is a unique tool to observe the ionospheric dynamics from coupling with lower atmosphere to impact from the magnetospheric drivers. The mid-latitude ionosphere provides a perfect region to learn about relative impacts of various drivers as the dynamics change at longer timescales. With a nested network of airglow imagers observing both the thermosphere and the ionosphere, the MANGO dataset presents a cornucopia of wave activity resulting from various processes in the atmosphere. In this colloquium, I will talk about the variety of phenomena observed by the MANGO network related to geophysical and magnetospheric drivers, climatological analyses, rare events, and day-to-day variability.
