Marc Cotter is an Associate Scientist at the High Altitude Observatory of the National Center for Atmospheric Research and works at the Mauna Loa Solar Observatory.

Marc is a member of a team of observers responsible for the daily operations of the Mauna Loa Solar Observatory located at 11,200’ elevation on the volcano of Mauna Loa on the Big Island of Hawaii. His duties include the operation and maintenance of the Coronal Multi-Channel Polarimeter (CoMP) and the Coronal Solar Magnetism Observatory K-Coronagraph (K-COR) instruments. In addition to these duties Marc assists and supports with the work of the Global Oscillation Network Group (GONG) located on Mauna Loa in Hawaii.
