Dr. Breno Raphaldini is a postdoc at NCAR/HAO interested in nonlinear aspects of geophysical and astrophysical flows. In particular the modelling of complex phenomena with theoretical tools from dynamical systems, stochastic processes, PDEs and Hamiltonian mechanics. Particular phenomena of interest: the Madden-Julian Oscillation, the El Nino oscillation, the quasi biennial oscillation, atmospheric blocking, the solar magnetic activity/ MHD waves /flux emergence, geomagnetic reversals/secular variation.
