Insights into the Physics of the Corona and Solar Wind (SpiroFest)
The purpose of this meeting is twofold: (1) celebrate the spectacular career of Spiro Antiochos, and (2) advance the science that he loves so dearly. We invite presentations on any topic in which Spiro has made a major contribution, including but not limited to coronal loops (e.g., chromospheric evaporation and cool loops), thermal nonequilibrium (e.g., prominence mass and coronal rain), coronal mass ejections (e.g., onset and acceleration), the slow solar wind (e.g., the S-web and interchange reconnection), and prominence magnetic fields (e.g., 3D sheared arcades and helicity condensation). We encourage speakers to discuss the latest developments, in light of Spiro’s contributions if appropriate, and point toward future progress. This meeting is meant to be a forward-looking retrospective, especially on near-term opportunities for progress.
